While writing Mara's character, I've always envisioned her as Tomoyo Daidouji from Cardcaptor Sakura. She'll have a gentle face and soft features. Very feminine. Her liveliness and vigor are all hidden from strangers. If you'll get to see her in her spirits, you'll think : "Is that really her?" Or if you hear her sarcasms : "Did that really come from her?" Its not like she's a devil hidden behind an angel's face, she's more like a prankster. She really does seem like an angel to those who doesn't know her, but to those she's very naughty. She'll have a big imagination and she'll always smile. But, Mara's eyes would be brown, chocolate brown. It gives warmth more than sapphire eyes. It'll give away her feelings. It'll show everything. When she smiles her eyes give a radiant glow. Like the moon.
That's how I envision Mara will look like when she grows up. She'll still look like an angel, and like when she's in her teens, she's still full of wit and sarcasm. But, she'll lose the innocent look in her brown orbs. This will her appearance in the sequel "The Ring of Pearl". She'll be eighteen by then. She'll be the same, but not as warm as she used to be. Events that happened will be a heavy burden on her shoulders.
This is what Mara looks like when she was young. I'm planning on making a separate novel about each of the lives of the army's members. Hers will be focused on her father's death. Doesn't she look adorable? I just love her eyes.
